First Day of First Grade!!
Here are a couple of pictures of our first day of school as first graders! They are such a wonderful group of students! We learned many routines, such as how to line up in a different order each day, depending upon who is the student of the day. They also learned how to organize their desk and where their things belong. We read "Howard B. Wigglebottom Learns to Listen" and put our alphabet tiles in order. Digraphs were a main focus this morning as they loved doing the actions and sounds for wh, th, sh, ch, ph, and qu. They drew a self-portrait and pictures of what they were good at doing, which focused on their strengths. Each child had a chance to tell about their summer and their family. Mr. Warren surprised us with ice cream sandwiches so we ate those for snack this morning as it was a special day. They thoroughly enjoyed a longer recess as our special classes don't start until Friday.
